The beach is suitable for recreation and with views to the Isle of Wight. Swimming, sailing, jet skiing, fishing, windsurfing, canoeing and waterskiing are all carried out, whilst there is a zoning of water sports. There is also a children's to play area.
The shops adequately meet day to day needs and the cafes and restaurants are great for a lunchtime snack or an evening meal.

Gosport town centre is approximately 3 miles away. Very popular markets are held very Tuesday and Saturday.
